ChatGPT Is Dead (Or Is It?)

Read Time: 3 Minutes
ChatGPT is DEAD and its killer is Google’s new AI “Bard”.
Earlier this past week (5/12), Google announced the release of its AI, “Bard”.

Bard is currently taking the internet by storm because of many features it has available that ChatGPT currently doesn’t:
Access to plugins.
Free internet access.
Integrates with Gmail.
Voice input capabilities.
Multiple drafts of the same response.
Suggest Google searches related to your prompt.
Clearly, people are taking notice:

Despite what creators are using as an amazing hook, ChatGPT isn’t going anywhere.
In fact, ChatGPT still has the lead.
Google’s Bard isn’t anywhere near as powerful as OpenAI’s GPT-4.
Recently, Google released a transcript pitting their PaLM 2 model against OpenAI’s GPT-4 model - Bard struggled big time.
In a recent YouTube video, Wes Roth compared Bard to ChatGPT completing similar tests in reasoning and coding.
The results…
Google’s Bard showed promising results in its reasoning abilities due to the AI’s ability to reason, combine multiple pieces of information, and make logical guesses.
When it came to coding, ChatGPT left Bard in the dust, with a score of 48.1 to Bard’s 26.2.
However, after 100 attempts Bard’s score improved to 88.4%. But, if required to give the correct answer on the first attempt, Bard’s score dropped to 37.6%, while ChatGPT, without the need for additional tools or attempts, maintained a score of 67%.
Clearly, ChatGPT, without any help from plugins, won this battle.
It’s a huge mistake to believe that Google has finally caught up to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Google’s AI, with the help of plugins, still is not as powerful as ChatGPT by itself. Not to mention, OpenAI just released beta access to plugins for premium users.
It may be too soon to say, but Bard’s advantages might be short-lived.
So what should you do?
Choose your AI model based on the task you are working on.
Entrepreneurs and business owners should use both ChatGPT and Bard for different tasks.
To get started, you must first understand what each AI is best at.
Google’s Bard:
Using images as input
Exporting to Google Docs
Accessing the Internet (Currently)
OpenAI’s ChatGPT:
Overall accuracy as an AI
Understanding data
Consistently coding correctly
Secondly, do an audit of your current workload:
Am I relying on code frequently?
Does my workplace use Google applications for communication?
Do I need access to the internet to answer my prompt?
Once you first, understand what each AI is best at, and then second, understand the demands of your workload, then you are ready to mix and match the two AIs to best suit you.
To Summarize:
#1: ChatGPT isn’t going anywhere. Google’s Bard still has a lot of work to do to catch up with ChatGPT, especially now that OpenAI is releasing its own plugins.
#2: Understand what each AI is best at. Bard and ChatGPT are both tools that can greatly benefit your business and increase your income. Make sure you are matching up each AI to a task that best suits its abilities.
#3: Do an audit of your workload. Begin to ask yourself questions about your workload to better understand its demands. Then, mix and match Bard and ChatGPT with different tasks to find what fits best.
AI is still very new and with each new update, there will be a wave of people who fall for false hype. This group will end up falling victim to the “shiny object” syndrome and jump from tool to tool.
Remember, AI is here to stay and neither Google’s Bard nor OpenAI’s ChatGPT are going anywhere.
See you next week.
