ABP #1: The Complete ChatGPT Guide + Setup (For Beginners)

Read Time: 4 minutes

In this initial release of The AI Business Playbook, I'm going to teach you exactly how to go from beginner to advanced with ChatGPT.

We are living in a world where entire industries are being replaced with AI. Companies like IBM, Google, and Amazon are looking to cut costs, and jobs, with the use of AI.

Mastering ChatGPT will help ensure you stay ahead of the growing market demand for AI. These AI skills will also help you cut costs in your own business and decrease your overall workload.

Unfortunately... less than 10% of people are using ChatGPT. And a majority of those who do are stuck in "Beginner Mode".

This may sound like bad news, but this is just the opposite.

If you can move from beginner to advanced with ChatGPT, you'll be ahead of 99% of your competition. Which, is exactly where I'm going to take you in today's newsletter.

Why Most People Fail (What to Avoid).

Before we move from beginners to ChatGPT masters, we need to identify the #1 ChatGPT sin holding you back:

#1 ChatGPT Sin: Using ChatGPT as the fire, not the firestarter.

The biggest mistake 99% of people are making when using ChatGPT is relying on it to do all of their work.

If you were going camping, ChatGPT would be the firestarter you use to get that initial flame going. It's great for a spark, but won't keep you warm for long.

ChatGPT is great for:

  • Generating ideas

  • Identifying problems

  • Streamlining mundane tasks

It can't:

  • Run your business

  • Run your social accounts

  • Complete your entire project

AI is best used as a starting point, not the full journey.

Now don't worry: I'm going to break down step-by-step exactly how you can get the most out of ChatGPT in less than 2 minutes.

Let's dive in.

1. Practice asking ChatGPT to format your answer in different ways.

With ChatGPT, your results are directly limited to the quality of your prompts.

Anything from your tone to the format you want your answer to be in will directly impact the quality of your answer.

There is an entire Reddit post dedicated to breaking down 48 different ways you can engineer a prompt. I'll link it here.

Prompt engineering is an ongoing skill you will have to build over hours of practice, but I'm going to provide you with some of the prompts you can use now.

2. The best prompts you can start using right now.

If you check LinkedIn or Twitter, you'll see a flood of people posting all sorts of prompts.

The biggest mistake people make with this is wasting their time using prompts that aren't relevant to their business or goals.

So, I did the dirty work for you and picked out the best 2 prompts that any business or employee can use right now:

The first: Have ChatGPT write prompts for your profession (Zain Kahn)

This prompt alone is one of the most powerful on the market. With this, you can deep dive into specific prompts that will benefit your specific job.

The second: Applying the "One Thing" concept to your daily workload (AI Solopreneur)

This prompt focuses on the concept coined by Gary Keller's book The One Thing, which focuses on figuring out what's the one thing you can do each day that will make everything else easier or unnecessary.

3. The best Google Chrome extensions to level up ChatGPT.

At this point, you now have a good enough grasp of ChatGPT to be considered advanced. But, we're going to take it to another level.

ChatGPT currently is very limited due to its lack of internet access and ability to save prompts locally.

My friend Tibi David is an expert in finding extensions to boost ChatGPT's function and he recommended these two the most:

The first: WebChatGPT (ChatGPT with internet access)

This extension:

  • Adds web results to prompts

  • Extracts webpage texts from URLs

  • Allow you to add and use prompt templates

The second: Superpower (ChatGPT on steroids)

This extension:

  • Lets you create folders

  • Sync/search history locally

  • Access thousands of prompts

By installing even one of these Chrome extensions, the results you generate from ChatGPT will be lightyears ahead of the people who use ChatGPT by itself.

In Summary

ChatGPT is the future and has the ability to break down walls for your business and daily workflow.

There is a right and wrong way to use it, however.

When used correctly, AI like ChatGPT can help fill areas in which you lack experience or time to do.

When used incorrectly, ChatGPT is very limited and won't take you very far.

Remember, this is not a zero-sum game. AI and the skills needed to use it are constantly evolving.

But, implementing some of the tips outlined in this guide you'll be well ahead of the rest.

See you next week.
