It’s pretty alarming considering the growing demand for AI.
But, you should not see this and immediately shut down your ChatGPT account IF you want to:
Become the go-to AI person at work
AI-proof your business/career
Streamline complex tasks
Leverage your time
Why not?
The threat of a data breach is looming around any piece of technology you decide to use going forward. If you let the fear of this drive you away from using AI, like ChatGPT, you are doing yourself a huge disservice.
You’ll lose out on:
AI’s ability to bridge your skill gaps
AI’s ability to provide you with customer insights
AI’s ability to set you apart from your competition
In addition, you’ll lose out on:
The opportunity to carve out new business with AI
The help of AI to map out your dreams
The ability to leverage your time
The rest of the world will continue to move forward with AI, while you let fear paralyze you from taking your own steps forward.
But, steps are being made… in both directions?
Good news: According to this article from Tech Brew, both the US and the EU are setting up strict guardrails around high-risk AI, such as deepfake technology and anything else that would put human rights at risk.
On the flip side: In this TIME article, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, has been speaking for stricter guardrails around AI use in the public eye, but has been lobbying for the EU to water down their AI protection acts in the hopes of avoiding OpenAI’s applications like ChatGPT and Dall-E 2 from being put under strict legal requirements.
What should you take from this?
AI isn’t going anywhere, so you should learn how to protect your data if you want to keep using it.
Protecting your data is easier than you would think.
In the original article sharing the AI leaked accounts report, Matt Southern makes a note that cybercriminals have been stealing data from credit cards, online extensions, website data leaks, and browsers for a while now.
And the simple solution: enabling two-factor authentication.
Clearly, with over 100k ChatGPT accounts being leaked, people aren’t practicing good cyber hygiene.
Want to protect your data and continue using AI, like ChatGPT?
Enable two-factor authentication:
Protecting your data doesn’t need to be:
Complicated
Draining
Fearful
Scary
Simply by enabling two-factor authentication, you will be more protected than 99% of online users in general. No need to worry that someone might find out that ChatGPT wrote your entire resume…
With the fear of your data being breached out of the way you can enjoy:
Trying out new AI tools
Freeing up time to enjoy life
Finding new ways to use AI for work
Creating new AI-driven business opportunities
Leveraging AI rather than needing to hire a freelancer
Don’t give up on AI.
It could be the one thing that completely transforms your career/business in 2023.
Rather than giving up, go all in.
I promise it’ll be worth it.
That’s it for this week.
See you next week.
TL/DR:
Over 100k ChatGPT accounts leaked
US and EU setting up AI guardrails
AI companies are lobbying to avoid strict legal requirements
Protecting your data is as easy as enabling two-factor authentication
