ABP #003: Take Back Your Work-Life Balance

Read time: 3 minutes
No one starts a job thinking, “I am so excited to spend every waking hour of my life working here.”
But for most people, the idea of a “work-life balance” is a dream.
Most people don’t want to quit their job, heck, most of us actually enjoy what we do.
So how can we maintain our sanity while working just as hard in the office?
With the use of AI.
Every day, companies are coming out with new AI tools that can “10x your productivity” and “change your workload forever.”
That sounds great and all, but how do we actually put any of it to use?
I’ve got you.
In a never-ending number of AI tools, productivity “hacks”, and useless prompts, here are 3 ways to take back your work-life balance with AI.
3 Tips on Taking Back Your Work-Life Balance with AI
1. Treat AI as your (free) digital assistant.
AI encompasses everything from ChatGPT to Chrome extensions to applications that create fully functioning websites code-free.
However, most of us are focusing on two or three of the same tasks every day.
Do a self-evaluation to figure out which tasks you spend most of your time with, then match up a tool to go with it:
For example, I found that I spent 60% of my time emailing back and forth, so I began using LavendarAi and StreamCRM for Gmail to streamline market research and track whether or not my email had been opened.
By relying on these two tools, I saved hours corresponding with cold prospects and others on my team.
2. Use AI to help present multiple solutions.
The worst part of working on a project is running into issues that take hours and sometimes weeks to solve.
When used correctly, chatbots such as ChatGPT, Bard, and BingAI are great at presenting multiple solutions to a well-defined problem, as well as, pinpointing potential hurdles a project might face.
Here are 5 prompts that you can use today:
You are an AI designed to help [insert profession]. Generate a list of the 10 best prompts for yourself. The prompts should be about [insert topic].
Compare and contrast (concept 1) and (concept 2) to better understand their similarities and differences. Use examples to illustrate your points.
Act as an expert career coach. I [explain problem]. Give me a list of 5 solutions that could potentially fix this problem.
Use your knowledge of (topic) to solve a real-world problem. Explain your thought process and share your solution.
I am creating a report about [insert topic]. Research and create an in-depth report with a step-by-step guide that will help readers understand how to [insert outcome].
3. Embrace the impacts of AI.
AI is here to stay and that’s the good news.
Recently, Gary Vaynerchuk took to LinkedIn to share his two cents on the impact of AI:

Popular newsletter, MailBrew, also released an article dedicated to talking about how AI might affect your job in the future:

What does this mean?
AI isn’t going anywhere. And that’s a win for your future sanity.
Rather than worry about AI trying to take your job or hoping that AI is going to be a phase, begin to actively take steps towards improving your understanding of it.
And to do so, I challenge you to actively seek out new tools as they come out and see which could benefit your situation.
Don’t be afraid of something new or using it wrong.
After all, how we use AI today is going to be silly in comparison to how we are using it 10 years from now.
Conclusion
A healthy work-life balance is essential for everyone trying to improve their health.
The introduction of the “AI Age” is great news for those of us trying to get more done without giving up our lives in the process.
Remember:
Use AI as your (free) digital assistant.
Use it to present multiple solutions.
Embrace it.
That’s it for this week, enjoy your weekend.
See you next week.
